| | The New New Serial No. 1330 2003 | | With its unfused skull bones and dessicated skin, this early 3rd trimester fetus looks as we might imagine a creature from another planet. Yet all the structures of the normal human adult are present and almost entirely developed.
At what point does our perception of the developing human cross the boundary between horror at a science-fiction monster and wonder at the beauty of a perfectly formed baby? Is there a boundary at all? If so, it is very thin, and remarkably arbitrary.
